Forno de cal de Sasdónigas, Mondoñedo, Lugo (J. Pita da Veiga, 2003)
My good friend Mr Juan Pita da Veiga, from Ferrol of nation, has had the courtesy of sending some photographs of the splendid continuous loading lime kiln of Sasdónigas (Mondoñedo, Lugo).
Situated by the river of A Brea (brea meaning here the way par excellence: the north path to Santiago de Compostela), in the place of Meruxeiras, appears a beautiful kiln that supplied lime for the fields of Abadín and Arneu.
It will not be long that we will add these pictures of the industrial heritage of Galicia to our inventory.
