Activities

We started off our journey as Corporate Members of “The International Committee for the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage” (TICCIH) cooperating with the organization of The Fifth Congress for the Preservation of the Industrial Heritage and the Public Works in Spain, held in Ferrol (Galicia, Spain) between February 25th and 28th, 2009. At such meeting we present our first projects: the refurbishing of the eighteenth century industrial corn grinding joint (waterwheels, windmills, tidal wheels) in Naron´s Council, which supplied nourishment to the people who made grow the village of Ferrol in that times.

Furthermore, performing the Inventory of the Galician Industrial Heritage, with accessibility from the Internet, is one of our targets, together with linking by the same media the different initiatives in this field which are performing in our country.

And in this environment we ask for your cooperation. You are the ones who can help us reaching where we cannot, telling about the threats to our heritage we ignore of, bringing your reports on installations either about to be forgotten or even to disappear, introducing people that can bring valuable knowledge to this issues…

Should you wish to participate in such jobs, please register at our website: you would gain private access to the exclusive section for members we are developing; you could review the existing files and even to use them as a reference to prepare your own contributions to the inventory. You will also receive notice of the association’s activities and will benefit of reduced fees to join to the activities to be performed both by Buxa as by TICCIH Spain.
