Galician Arts’ Day
The Galician Royal Academy of Fine Arts, created in 1849 to promote, study, contribute to safeguarding, the awareness of the arts and the Galician cultural heritage, in its meeting of January 31st, 2015, decided to establish the “day of the Galician Arts”.
To celebrate the Galician Arts’ Day, it was chosen April 1st of each year, in memory of the same day of the year 1188, engraved in the heading of the rudder of the “Pórtico de la Gloria” to certify that the work is directed, from the foundation, by Master Mateo.
