Camino by sea

We present in the Museum of the Sea of Galicia, in Vigo, the cultural project ‘Camino by sea’. It begins with the repair of the naomhóg ‘Naomh Gobnait’, a traditional boat in which four Irishmen came rowing from Dublin to Santiago. His journey was made in three stages: from Ireland to Brittany (2014); from Brittany to the Basque Country (2015); and from the Basque Country to Galicia (2016). In the year 2017 the pilgrim boat wanted to approach Portugal, but at the mouth of the Miño river it sank, and one of the rowers died. This project wants to honor his memory, and the immemorial relationship between Galicia and Ireland.
